The Beginning

I first started Laysha’s Bookshop on Etsy. I already had another shop (https://beadedbyherself.etsy.com) on Etsy where I sell handmade bracelets, keychains, etc. But I wanted to do something else that was different, and my mind immediately went to books. I didn’t really know about blind date with a book or book boxes before I started my shop, but when I found out about those, I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do. So I dove in headfirst, bought all the materials I would need, and I just started, and I haven’t regretted it since. I love making book boxes and personalizing each box for every customer. And I love it when they leave a review saying that they, or whoever they bought the box for, loved it; it makes me happy that I could make them a box that they would be happy with. I love to be able to share my love for reading with other people.

I haven’t always loved reading myself; I used to always read as a kid, but then I didn’t enjoy it as much anymore and only read when I was required to for school. But a couple of years ago I picked up a book and haven’t stopped since. I love that when you read, it takes you on a thousand journeys and you visit a bunch of new places within the pages. With one book you can visit a castle from the 1800’s, and in the next you can be on a different planet with aliens. With books, there is no limit to the adventures you can go on.
